The Scherer is a friendly, traditional 4-star hotel in a central yet quiet location close to Salzburg’s old town and train station. A pleasant 15-minute walk along the Salzach promenade takes you from the hotel, which is located in a peaceful side street, to the city centre. Enjoy tasty Austrian and international dishes at the cosy restaurant. The family-run Hotel Scherer is open all year and features a 24-hour reception. English, French, Italian, Spanish, Arabic and some Japanese are spoken by the staff.

Activities:

- Hiking and jogging on the Salzach river promenade.
- Cycling: bike rental at the hotel. Follow the Tauernradweg (bike path) to the south.
- Fitness: within 20 minutes' walking distance, you can reach the fitness centre Vita Club.
- Golf: the next golf course is about 7 kilometres away at Klessheim.
- Tennis: the next tennis court (indoor and outdoor) is about 8 kilometres away.
- Swimming: an indoor pool is approx. 600 metres away (sauna and mudpacks are available).

There are also many lakes in the surrounding area (20 minutes by car).

Excursions can be booked at the reception.
